The Society of St. Vincent de Paul and My Community Dental Centers are pleased to announce the opening of a newly renovated dental center in Detroit to provide affordable and quality care to those most in need.

April 6, 2018

MCDC and SVDP-Detroit are pleased to announce the re-opening of the dental center at 3000 Gratiot, Detroit, MI. The dental center is a result of a joint effort between both organizations to ensure quality dental services are provided to those in need. MCDC welcomes children and adults enrolled in Medicaid, including Healthy Kids Dental, Healthy Michigan Plan, the uninsured and those with private dental insurance.

The five-chair dental center will be opening March 26, 2018. The center will provide comprehensive dental services including oral exam/cleanings, fillings, tooth removal, partials, dentures, and other dental procedures. An initial exam with X-rays will be $39 for new patients. The organization is also pleased to offer My Dental Program (MyDP) for those without dental insurance, which provides reduced fees based on household income.

Dr. Michael Lee, D.D.S. and the staff are excited to be joining the St. Vincent de Paul Dental Center. Dr. Lee has been with MCDC since May of 2016, initially providing care in the MCDC location at Samaritan Center. His core of professional values are strongly aligned with that of MCDC’s organizational values with an emphasis on comfort, patient satisfaction and clinical quality: “As a Detroit resident, I’m honored and excited to be working alongside St. Vincent de Paul to provide high quality dental care for my neighbors who are truly in need. There are very few things more fulfilling than being able to transform lives through dentistry. From making dentures to help people get back to work, getting someone with a toothache out of pain, and answering a mother’s questions about her infant’s teeth, my team and I have the privilege of making an impact in people’s lives. We look forward to building on the work already done by the clinic and with the combined resources of these two great organizations, help countless more Detroiters in need of quality care.”
A lack of access to dental care negatively affects the community’s health and well-being. When an oral health emergency strikes, those enrolled in Medicaid and the uninsured often head to the emergency room, not the dentist. This center will provide access to care to those most in need in the Detroit area. “The Society of St. Vincent DePaul Detroit has served our neighbors in need for the past 134 years. Last year alone, through its many outreach efforts, we provided assistance to more than 300,000 of Metro

Detroit’s citizens. We look forward to building on that number by collaborating with MCDC as they deliver vital dental services to those in need.” – Daniel P. Malone, CEO, SVDP Detroit
