Forging a Stronger Future

My Community Dental Centers
2024 Annual Report

We each have our own reasons for working at MCDC, but for many of us, it's about making a difference in someone's life every day. From routine cleanings to complex treatments, we don't just impact smiles—we change lives.

As we reflect on 2024, we recognize that despite our dedication and best intentions, the year did not unfold as we had hoped. Yet, through these challenges, our team’s commitment remains unwavering, which you’ll see reflected in the stories and data shared in this report.

Sharon came to MCDC with one goal: to restore her smile.

“I’m dying. The one thing I didn’t want to do was die with no teeth.”

After three rounds of chemo had destroyed her mouth and her cancer diagnosis left her with a short life expectancy, Sharon knew exactly what she wanted. In the face of everything, one thing mattered most to her: to pass away with her own teeth and a beautiful smile.

Celebrating Connection and Purpose: MCDC’s All-Staff Meeting

At MCDC, we know that our success is built on the collective effort of every team member. That’s why, in 2021, we formed our Culture Committee, a group made up of employees from all levels within the organization, to improve internal communication and foster a culture we can all be proud of. The committee’s primary goal has always been to enhance employee engagement, promote recognition, and create a sense of purpose across our teams.

Safeguarding Michigan’s
Dental Care

At My Community Dental Centers (MCDC), we are committed to ensuring that all Michiganders have access to quality dental care, particularly those who rely on Medicaid and other safety net programs. However, rising operational costs, outdated equipment, and inadequate Medicaid reimbursement rates have placed immense strain on our ability to serve vulnerable populations.

Client Testimonials

“I lost my job, my dental insurance, and half of my front tooth all within two weeks. They were able to work out an affordable plan to get my smile restored in time for job interviews. Simply amazing people.”

Josh, Ypsilanti

“I recently had some wisdom teeth pulled, it was also my first time back to the dentist in awhile so I was a bit nervous. If anyone else is feeling nervous about a procedure they need done, you’re in good hands here as they’re very friendly and informative as the dentist vocalized everything he was doing as he went. Very professional place with great staff, can’t express enough how quick, easy, and near painless it was. Very highly recommend!”
